New? Start Here!

Annyeonghaseyo (Hello)! My name is Rachel - you may know me from my primary blog, The Asexual Geek, where I explore the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to aromantic and asexual representation in media.

I identify as a sex-repulsed aromantic asexual, meaning I experience neither romantic nor sexual attraction and, although I have no problem with sex for other people, seeing it portrayed in media can often be a struggle. However, I've been able to find a lot of comfort and enjoyment in Korean dramas in a way I rarely find in Western media these days. So I thought, why not review the K-Dramas I watch through this lens? Thus, The Asexual K-Drama Geek - a companion to my main blog - was born!

First time here? Please check out my introduction post to see what this blog is going to be like. If you're interested in what dramas I'll be discussing, a good place to start is my "Dramas I've Seen" list. While I may not cover every last drama on this list or it may take me a while to get to each drama as I move through the ones I've seen and new ones besides, there's a good chance many will be ones I discuss and review here.

First time with Korean dramas or asexuality in general? Then a great place to start is my "Glossary of Terms" and "How To Start Watching Korean Media" sections. The glossary will give you a list of not only some terms you may encounter on this blog in regard to asexual/aromantic topics, but it will also give you an overview of some Korean terms or concepts you may encounter while watching K-Dramas. The "How to Watch" section will help if you're new to K-Dramas as a concept by hopefully giving you a little insight as to how to pick the drama that is the best fit for you. I sincerely hope that I can help you find your new favorite show through my work on this blog!
